The actual romance branch is in The Night of Horrors. Eat the mandrake yourself, follow Lacra, acknowledge Coen's comfort with his new nature, drink from her wrist, and choose the kiss. If the night ends directly after the mandrake discussion, the branch was missed.
The relationship is a one-time encounter and does not block Anca or Crake. It also does not prevent Lacra from joining the Brencis finale. Later dialogue can refer to the shared night.
