Use the 30-day action budget, recognize expiry warnings, and protect missable quests and choices.

How the 30-day time limit works

Coen has 30 in-game days and nights to save his family. This is an action budget, not a real-time countdown: exploring Vale Sangora does not spend story time on its own. Starting or advancing certain quests spends time segments. Check the displayed cost before committing.

The publisher's August 13, 2026 feature overview confirms this distinction. Its June 2025 gameplay recap explains that an hourglass shows how far a marked activity will advance time when completed. These explanations establish the general rule; they are not a complete list of current-build action costs.

Why time is a resource

Rebel Wolves designed the system to keep the family rescue urgent and make priorities matter, while letting players explore at their own pace. The tension comes from choosing which commitments to spend time on, rather than rushing through every real-world minute of play.

What Narrative Sandbox means for your choices

The developers use Narrative Sandbox to describe a story shaped by the paths you take. Main and side quests are not treated as a fixed hierarchy: deciding what to pursue, postpone, or leave unresolved helps shape Coen's story. The time budget makes those priorities meaningful. It does not prescribe a single best route or prove that every story can be completed before the deadline.

Official explanations

Time Limit

The 30-day deadline is an action budget, not a real-time timer. Explore freely, check costs before committing, and finish the family rescue before the deadline.

Missables

Check chapter endings, active objective deadlines, and irreversible choices separately. Keep a manual save before the prologue closes or you commit to an ending.

Point of No Return

Keep a separate manual save before advancing A Deal with the Devil or another ending route. Chapter closure, objective expiry, and the rescue deadline are different risks.

Timed Quests

Watch for the blue clock in the journal. A quest may gain a deadline partway through; sun and moon icons describe a required phase, not the same warning.
