Stay With Anca or Go

Browse Choices Guides
Quick answer

Stay for the optional Page-Turner quest and its reported 100 XP if you can spare one extra time segment. Leave if preserving that segment matters more.

Recommended
Stay with Anca for the optional Page-Turner scene, 100 XP, and more character context. Leave if saving one time segment matters more.
Time cost
Staying adds one time segment, making the whole Anca sequence cost two segments instead of one.
Missable

Stay during the stormPage-Turner: reading, herbs, and helping AncaOne extra segment
Leave nowSkip that optional sceneKeep the segment

PowerPyx lists Page-Turner as a one-segment quest with a 100 XP reward. PC Gamer distinguishes this extra charge from the two segments spent on the combined visit. The extra segment is not the cost of the entire Withering Away quest.

Where does the choice appear?

Visit Anca during Withering Away to get Esme's herbs. When she invites Coen to stay through the storm, accept to begin Page-Turner. Save before the invitation if you want to compare the branches.

If you stay

  • Complete the reading scene.
  • Collect the herbs from her shed; the published walkthroughs list 11 bundles to gather there.
  • Help Anca, then return to Esme's medicine objective.

Page-Turner Latin answers: Catullus or Petronius?

The lesson has two books. The red book leads to Catullus and a flirtier poem; Petronius is the other reading. If Anca initially dismisses the red book, keep asking to read Catullus. Pick the answers for the book you actually chose:

PowerPyx reports both answer pairs. The Catullus reading and its first question were also checked in the gameplay video; the Petronius branch was not. These are the English answer words, not a transcript of every dialogue option. Neither choosing the red book nor answering the lesson guarantees the later romance. Finish the remaining quest steps as well.

Where to check the reading scene

The game-maps.com Page-Turner video shows Coen reading the Catullus passage around 02:42. The uploader marks the Latin lesson at 00:35, gathering herbs at 05:40, and helping Anca at 07:14. Those chapter labels are navigation aids; the answers in the table come from the written walkthrough.

The video was uploaded September 21, 2026. Its game build is not shown in the checked frames, so it does not establish current-patch costs, every book branch, or later romance outcomes.

Does leaving settle the later romance?

The sources describe this as optional early character content, not the later romance commitment itself. Staying lets you see more of Anca; it does not guarantee every later romance outcome. Continue checking her quest chain and your missable objectives.

Before the prologue ends

Page-Turner must be completed before Sacred Covenant. Do not let the optional scene distract you from preparing Esme's medicine in time.
